Three-time Brazilian National Champion and 5th degree Carlson Gracie Sr. black belt Ricardo “Rey” Diogo will be conducting a jiu-jitsu seminar on Saturday February 17th, from 1 p.m. to 3 pm, at Copa Jiu-Jitsu, 3727 N. Broadway St., in Chicago. This gi seminar is open to the public and costs $50 for online registration and $60 at the door. Rey Diogo has been studying and training under the Carlson Gracie team since 1981, and in addition to his Brazilian National Championships, Rey has recorded wins at some of the country’s top tournaments, including the Pan-American Championship in 2005, 2009 and 2011.
This is our acclaimed BJJ Beginner Course curriculum, available now for registration. In 16 classes over 8 weeks, you will learn the most critical concepts and techniques of the highly-effective art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from a Competition/MMA as well as a Self Defense perspective. This course is designed for those with no grappling experience, so you will all learn from the ground up. Tuesdays/Thursdays from 8-9pm.

Feb 1, 2014: UFC Star and Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar will be at Copa Jiu-Jitsu to share some of his favoite Octagon techniques and strategies.
Bonnar was the runner-up in The Ultimate Fighter, Season 1. His legendary match against Forrest Griffin is considered the most important fight in UFC history. Copa’s very own Mark “Mack the Knife” Daley was in his corner for the fight rematch in UFC 62.
Copa Jiu-Jitsu performed extraordinarily at the recent tournament put on by US Grappling. In total, the Copa Competition Team took in 9 medals and was the 3rd highest scoring school at the tournament. Those medals were instrumental in helping the Carlson Gracie Team to First Place Team honors.

Copa Jiu-Jitsu is excited to announce a public martial arts seminar on August 26th, 2012 with prominent UFC fighter Miguel Angel Torres. This will be his last public seminar before his upcoming UFC fight training camp.

Torres will be teaching some of the Carlson Gracie jiu-jitsu techniques that helped him reach the pinnacle of mixed martial arts.
Miguel Torres is a former WEC Bantamweight champion. Prior to fighting with the WEC, Torres also held the bantamweight title for the US Shooto organization, as well as for the Ironheart Crown. He received his Carlson Gracie jiu-jitsu black belt in 2008.
The seminar will be at Copa Jiu-Jitsu inside of Quads Gym in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood. Lockers and showers are available for seminar attendees.
